Course Overview

This course involves the setting out and re-laying of both slates and single lap tiling to historic roof structures. It involves the appropriate selection and re-use of the existing materials where possible.

Learning Objectives

Setting out tiling battens to the required gauge for both slates and plain tiles
Selecting and cutting tiles and slates and fixing to battens
Detailing of tiles and slates at the roof edges and abutments.
